What is involved in a Home Rewire?

A house rewire is a major electrical job that should only be carried out by a professional electrician. WS Electrical will plan and implement exactly the right wiring for your home. Every house rewire project in Hull is different, but a house rewire usually involves the following:

First fix

First fix involves all the major electrical work and we will probably need to lift floor coverings, get behind skirting’s and make channels in your walls and ceilings to add new cables.  You should carefully plan your electrical requirements at this stage and decide where you require sockets and switches as well as any smart home technology that you would like to incorporate. As fully qualified electricians, WS Electrical will guide you through this process.

Second fix

At the second fix stage, we add your new consumer unit, as well as plug sockets and switches, and any of your built-in electrical systems like alarm systems or electric showers.

Once the work is complete we carry out detailed testing to ensure that all aspects are working efficiently, so we can issue you with your certificate and necessary paperwork to show that your house rewire has been installed by a qualified and registered electrician. Once the rewire is completed we or a company we sub contract will carry out all Re-Instatement work, to ensure that your home looks like new.

The process takes anything from 2 days to a week to complete, depending on the size of your property.
